  • Overview

    The Senior Merchandising Planner Manages the Front of Store and Middle of Store Merchandising Planning Department and reports into the VP. The Senior Merchandising Planner oversees ad hoc reporting used to evaluate financial data to facilitate merchants in implementing profitable product strategies and manages the team of Merchandising Planner 1-2.

    Qualifications

    • Advanced in Excel including pivot tables and formulas
    • Experience with Windows, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint
    • Self-Motivated person that is able to work with multiple personality types.
    • Advanced analytical skill set with developed time management and multitasking abilities.
    • Proactive and action results orientated
    • 3-5 years relevant work experienceUndergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
    • Multi-task oriented and possess the ability to make decisions to achieve results
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills
    • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
    • Ability to make decisions, communicate effectively utilizing telephone, email, or one on one conversation.
    • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Must be able to maintain composure and handle high stress situations.
    • Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills
    • Required to learn and perform Oracle or consultant mode order entry
    • Required to use SalesForce, communicating on customer issues and problem solving accordingly
    • Ability to make oral and written presentations; ability and confidence to present opinions and thoughts in a clear, unbiased manner
    • Ability to make decisions to achieve desired results
    • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

    Responsibilities

    • The ability to satisfactorily adhere to company attendance policies.
    • Creates and owns the FOS and MOS open to buy
    • Manages yearly financial forecasts for Front of Store and Middle of Store and submits quarterly projections into company’s financial database.  Review with Vice President of Merchandising for approval
    • Create assortment planning matrices to identify expansion opportunities
    • Weekly and monthly review of new and replenishment inventory value approved by inventory managers to understand the impact at a macro level
    • Develops and manages ad hoc reporting as needed for Vice President of Merchandising as well as merchants
    • Analyzes and manages the customization and services aspect of each product category and make pertinent suggestions to drive financial growth
    • Coach, train and develop Inventory Managers
    • Routinely present recommendations and other analysis to Product Managers/Directors related to driving goals
    • Supports and owns all financial reporting to support Directors/VP in SABR, Board, and all other financial updates.
    • Presents inventory analytics and numbers at WBR, Period Review, SABR, and Board Reviews
