  • Overview

    This position involves working with both Operations, Procurement, and Merchandising to develop, manage, and monitor demand planning/forecasting as well as made to order customer requests.  Focus areas of this role include: production capacity across facilities, status of open production orders, current inventory (surplus included), inventory turns, obsolescence, lead times, publication schedules, new product launch schedules, seasonality, and made to order vs. planned demand.

    Qualifications

    • College Degree or related experience preferred
    • APICS and/or CPIM certification preferred
    • Five plus years of planning experience

    Responsibilities

    • Support new product development through cooperative scheduling of model introductions
    • Coordinate and plan materials requirements for new product requests, including the review of bill of materials (to include fabricated and procured components)
    • Proactively review material supply and demand to determine surplus/shortfalls and communicate with the respective support areas
    • Review all pertinent information to analyze and ensure that the manufacturing facility selected for production meets the tactical needs of the company
    • Assess impact of current labor capacity against future demand and communication of that information across operations
    • SME of the forecasting software
    • Drive, promote, and develop positive communication with Merchandising and Operation areas to improve forecast accuracy
    • Assist with migrating new or existing business to other suppliers (as needed)
    • Development and presentation of various Reporting/Visuals/Charts/etc
    • Management of Production Expeditors and Prodcution Planners
    • Training and development of staff
    • Develop, maintain, and monitor team goals
    • Create, maintain, and update standard operating procedures
