The intention is for an engaged student to gain knowledge around material handling equipment. Specifically to participate in the layout, implementation, training and thought process around a major material handling automation project.
Ability to query and research data.
Experience with SQL or other database analysis tools.
Experience with AutoCAD.
Ability to articulate data and apply to business applications.
Effective written and oral communications.
Team player with strong communication, organizational, and interaction skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete on time with minimal supervision.
Actively enrolled in Industrial Engineering, Engineering or Industrial Technology courses.
Participate in project management related activities.
Aid in facilitation of new material handling equipment (MHE).
Learn functionalities of sorting equipment.
Communicate in vendor facing situations.
Draft and map current processes.
Identify areas of improvement utilizing lean principles as well as ergonomics and safety.
Draft and modify facility layouts to support MHE implementations.
Analyze and report on internal data to help drive operational decisions.
Research and report on the latest trends in technology and automation.
