Overview

We are hiring a hands on Director to work in a 50,000 square foot automated distribution center.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of positive results, prior experience leading cross functional Supply Chain initiatives and the proven ability to attract, develop, and retain a high performing team.  Accountable for the Fulfillment and Receiving functions of the DC.  Manages and trains DC management personnel to meet established Fulfillment and Receiving compliance requirements of merchandise through the DC. Delivers production plans that optimize turn time and expedites merchandise through the DC in an accurate, cost effective manner. Supervise and lead activities to coordinate the daily operation of the inventory and warehouse functions to ensure the Logistics and customer service objectives of the company are met.  The Fulfillment DIrector will be responsible for the outbound operations of a high volume, order fulfillment, multi-shift distribution center.  Administer all functions to ensure timely and accurate inbound receipts, order fulfillment, while optimizing resources and processes.  Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance with the company policies/procedures, continual process improvment and drive employee initiatives to create and promote an environment where team members are involved, empowered, and committed to the success of Stuller.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3-5 years Logistics experience
  • Major Project Implementation
  • Material Handling Automation Experience
  • Promotes consistent inter-departmental communication with Sales, Customer Experience, Compliance, Finance, Purchasing, Legal, HR, Manufacturing and Information Technology to assist Stuller in meeting corporate goals, initiatives and forecasts.
  • Industry knowledge of inventory control and order fulfillment standards and metrics.
  • Experience with Lean/continuous improvement initiatives, MS Office, Excel, Word, Power Point, and knowledge of various WMS systems preferred.     

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in assigning and scheduling workflow, coaching and directing employee activities, monitoring shift progress, maintaining employee performance and resolving production and personnel problems.
  • Ensure the daily order fulfillment and daily receipts, (PO, returns, memo, manufactured products) workflow requirements are met through the effective scheduling and assigning of employees and making schedule modifications as the need arises.
  • Continually review labor utilization and performance to ensure a high level of efficiency to meet daily order fulfillment and overall warehouse workload requirements.
  • Establish, maintain and oversee departmental procedures and work instructions.  Develop, implement, review, and update procedures and techniques related to the Materials and Logistics functions.
  • Maintain a safe work environment through ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures and guidelines.  Reporting safety related discrepancies and recommending corrective actions to prevent, correct and eliminate safety hazards.
  • Continuously monitor inventory levels to minimize shrinkage and loss while maximizing revenue and customer satisfaction.
  • Complete various reports (i.e., time sheets, production shift update, production logs, personnel reports). May assist in personnel, performance, training, attendance and other record maintenance. 
  • Ability to translate business and design requirements into technical data requirements.
  • Continually monitor storage capabilities/requirements of the warehouse and identify opportunities to maximize usage of space.  Lead cycle count activities, research inventory discrepancies, root cause analysis and corrective action reviews.
  • Selects, motivates and trains qualified management staff.  Partners with Executive Director of Logistics and Human Resource Department regarding performance reviews, interviewing, hiring, terminations, and corrective counseling within the Distribution Center.
  • Conduct training of new employees and cross-training of current employees in various aspects of the operation to ensure the work force is flexible and can respond to variations in work flow.
  • Assist in equipment preventative maintenance and ensure completed on schedule and that the inventory level of tools/equipment is adequate.
