Overview

  • The position is for a skilled tool maker responsible for building new tooling in support of a growing business. You will be responsible for working with journeyman Tool Makers to ensure deadlines and standards are met. You will lead special projects, tool improvements and coordinate with management on tool related manufacturing and quality issues, while promoting proactive efforts in cost reduction and continuous improvement programs.       

Qualifications

  • Qualified Toolmaker preferably with experience within the jewelry industry but not essential
  • Ability to effectively make decisions and problem solve
  • Familiarity with production processes
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

  • Ensure new product tooling goals are met    
  • Track appropriate tool related corrective actions to process owners and monitor updates
  • Coordinate tool related manufacturing and quality issues, while promoting proactive efforts in cost reduction for production   
  • Maintain up-to-date information on current tooling practices and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of the company’s manufacturing practices
  • Ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed
  • Confer with management teams regarding product and production specifications, manufacturing capabilities, or project status
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization
  • Coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs
  • Continually add to best practices and implement into Tooling Standards
